I will dominate 'credible combatant' Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua prepares to battle Jake Paul in an eight round fight which will be broadcast in real-time on the streaming platform.

Briton Anthony Joshua stated he will "stamp all over" the American and "defeat" his opponent as the pair came face-to-face to promote the upcoming bout.

Ex two time world boxing king Joshua meets YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, theoretically, a mammoth mismatch - at Miami's venue on December 19th.

Fighter's Mentality

"I will injure his face and damage his physique. I'm here to prove my superiority," the British boxer, 35 years old, declared.

"I will dominate him completely. That's how fighters think.

"I'm going to genuinely try to hurt him. That's what I want to do."

Respectful Exchange

Despite those words, a composed Joshua and internet personality Paul - normally recognized for his dramatics - exchanged pleasantries and kept it respectful with each other.

Paul rather attacked ex Joshua's opponent Francis Ngannou and called him "a joke" after the Cameroonian declined a fight offer.

Targeting Fury

Anthony Joshua, meanwhile, criticized UK rival Tyson Fury - and declined a £1m bet 'The Gypsy King' says he will place on a Paul win.

"[Paul] is better than Fury - he's actually sitting here," the boxer stated.

"I give him credit for that."

Serious Opponent

Despite saying he intends to punish Paul, Joshua chose not to speak negatively about his opponent's boxing ability.

"Jake is a credible opponent," he said.

Paul's History

Jake Paul - who originally gained popularity on the television network - has mainly boxed mixed martial artists or faded names since becoming pro.

He lost to Briton Tommy Fury in 2023.

Commercial Success

However, the relative newcomer continues to be one of boxing's largest money-making draws, consistently making huge paydays.

Prediction and Confidence

The 28-year-old predicted a knockout win in rounds four or five and claimed he would prevent the much-anticipated match between Joshua and Fury, which is allegedly under discussion for 2026.

"The next fight will be my match with Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul stated.

Size Disparity

As the two fighters participated in the customary face-off, with their physical disparity evident, it highlighted just how improbable this entire matchup is - and how remarkable it is that the match is really proceeding.
